Biography:
Haku is a prominent character from Hayao Miyazaki's animated film, Spirited Away (2001). He's initially presented as a mysterious boy who aids Chihiro, the protagonist, in navigating the spirit world.
His true identity is that of a powerful river spirit whose real name is Nigihayami Kohakunushi. He had lost his memory and become an apprentice to the witch Yubaba, working in her bathhouse.
Haku's relationship with Chihiro is central to the story. He helps her find work and survive in the spirit world, while she, in turn, helps him remember his forgotten name and past. Recalling his true name frees him from Yubaba's control.
